Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Salina, KS is seeking a Crane Operator to operate the galvanizing department’s 15-ton overhead bridge crane, delivering high-quality finished product safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have experience with overhead crane operations, strong safety awareness, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume manufacturing setting. 1st shift (6:30am–3:00pm) or 3rd shift (10:30pm–7:00am) with shift differential for the night shift.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Exposure to wet/humid conditions, fumes, heat and moving parts; safety-focused.
• Passion and integrity with drive to excel and deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Monitor steel products in tanks and zinc baths to achieve high-quality end result.
• Inspect hooks and chains and use gauges to check crane setup thickness.
• Operate and maneuver the drossing equipment safely.
• Wear required PPE and follow facility safety regulations.
• Maintain a safe and productive working environment.
• Operate radio-controlled crane while standing and walking down the galvanizing process.
