Job summary

Levy at Compass Group USA is seeking an Overflow Bartender at the Thomas M. Menino Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston. The role involves preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, handling payments, and maintaining a clean, organized bar setup.

Responsibilities include inventory, signage, use of POS, and ensuring guest satisfaction with a sense of urgency. Minimum requirements include basic math, cash handling, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Possess basic math and cash handling skills.
• Walks and stands throughout entire shift.
• Lifts up to 30 lbs and can push/pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs.
• Reads, speaks, writes English.

Responsibilities

• Finalize bar setup and signage according to Levy standards.
• Prepare and serve liquor, beer, soda, juice and mixed drinks.
• Conduct inventory and complete paperwork for lead/management.
• Record purchases using the POS system.
• Maintain clean, organized and fully stocked work station and service areas.
• Display a sense of urgency to meet guest and event needs.

The Bartender is responsible for preparing, serving and accepting payment for guests’ alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage orders.

Service

• Finalizes the set up of bar fronts with accessories, included but not limited to product samples, menus and signage, according to Levy Standards.
• Prepares and serves liquor, beer, soda, juice and mixed drinks.
• Conducts beginning and ending product inventory, and completes necessary paperwork and gives it to lead or management..
• Dates remaining open bottles of wine, liquor, etc.
• Accepts payment via cash, credit card or voucher/tickets and accurately records purchases.
• Maintains clean, and organized and fully stocked work station and service areas throughout the service.
• Accurately uses point of sale (POS) system.
• Acts with a sense of urgency with respect to guest and event needs.

Controls

• Employs good safety and sanitation practices in order to prevent hazards including but not limited to, slips, trips, falls and burns, and reports injuries, unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to management. Contacts Public Safety and management in the event of emergencies.
• Follows cash handling guidelines with accuracy and timeliness.
• Adheres to company guidelines, policies and property rules.
• Thoroughly completes all responsibilities and assignments.

Team

• Displays a positive attitude.
• Assists others when necessary and/or requested.
