Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is hiring an Ovation System Administrator to install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments and Emerson Ovation software. The role includes securing Ovation systems, managing Active Directory, and supporting virtualization and disaster recovery.

You will work in a hybrid role based in Warrendale, PA, reporting to the Control & Information System Engineering manager, with emphasis on cybersecurity, documentation, and reliable plant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
• 5+ years' experience with Windows Server, control systems, or network infra.
• Experience with Ovation DCS, Cisco switches, virtualization, and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments and AD services.
• Deploy, administer, and support Emerson Ovation software and tools.
• Configure Ovation Security Manager, user accounts, and policies.
• Install and troubleshoot Cisco switches, VLANs, and Ethernet links.
• Support virtualization, backups, DR solutions, and recovery processes.
• Perform software updates, patches, and cybersecurity hardening.
• Troubleshoot system, network, and control system issues on site.
• Develop and maintain system docs, diagrams, and procedures.

As an Ovation System Administrator, you are responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Emerson Ovation Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and associated server, network, and virtualization infrastructure. This role supports the deployment and lifecycle management of control system environments, ensures system reliability and cybersecurity compliance, and provides technical troubleshooting for plant and engineering systems.

You will report to the Control & Information System Engineering manager and work a hybrid role based in Warrendale, PA.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain services.
• Deploy, administer, and support Emerson Ovation software, workstations, servers, and engineering tools.
• Configure and maintain Ovation Security Manager (OSM), user accounts, roles, permissions, and security policies.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco network switches, VLANs, and industrial Ethernet communications.
• Support virtualization platforms, virtual machines, backups, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Perform software installations, upgrades, system patches, backups, and cybersecurity updates.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, network, and control system issues.
• Support factory testing, commissioning, maintenance activities, and customer troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, network diagrams, and administrative procedures.
• Ensure systems comply with cybersecurity, quality, and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience supporting Windows Server environments, industrial control systems, or network infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Windows Server Administration
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Emerson Ovation DCS
  • Cisco Managed Switches
  • VMware or Hyper-V Virtualization
  • TCP/IP Networking and Ethernet Communications
  • System Backup and Recovery
  • Cybersecurity Best Practices
• Experience supporting power generation, utility, or industrial automation systems is helpful
• Knowledge of scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell is helpful

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,000 - $129,000 per year.
