R&D Outsourcing Specialist (Clinical Development)

A growing, mission-driven biopharmaceutical company is seeking an R&D Outsourcing Specialist to support its expanding clinical development portfolio.

This position partners closely with Clinical Operations, R&D, and external vendors to ensure timely execution of contracts, budgets, and scopes of work that support the clinical plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the RFP process, including bid comparison, analysis, and contract negotiation
• Lead budget and contract negotiations with clinical service providers
• Negotiate and finalize scopes of work (SOWs), payment schedules, and change orders
• Support ongoing contract lifecycle management, including amendments and spend tracking
• Oversee vendor setup, invoicing, and contract documentation within internal systems
• Ensure contracts are executed and maintained in compliance with company policies
• Track and report cost savings and cost avoidance
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract databases
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external partners
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within outsourcing and contracting workflows

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in R&D, clinical outsourcing, vendor management, or clinical contracts
• Experience supporting multiple vendors across multiple clinical trials
• Familiarity with RFPs, SOWs, budgets, and contract negotiations
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
• Experience with systems such as Coupa, MedCompli, or similar platforms is a plus (trainable)
• Hybrid role: in-office approximately three days per week, with flexibility as needed
• Occasional travel for in-person meetings
