Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a remote accounting team, including scope of work, job budgets, and profitability.
  • Provide general advisory services to clients via scheduled remote meetings regarding financial statements.
  • Serve as the primary contact for real estate investment client engagements.
  • Partner with clients from private equity, joint ventures, and other investors, focusing on the real estate industry.
  • Research and share best practices relevant to each client's business concerns.
  • Calculate investor returns, budget/forecast asset performance, and prepare financial data for loan covenants.
  • Advise on cash flow, debt structure, and leverage.
  • Leverage data analytics and new technology, including various accounting software.
  • Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal teams.
  • Advise clients on process improvements in their accounting departments and internal controls.
  • Meet with investors to review management reports and key performance indicators.
  • Prepare financial data for loan covenants when applicable.
  • Mentor and train team members to grow in their roles and responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 8+ years of full cycle accounting experience, including financial statement preparation within the real estate industry.
  • Previous public accounting experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and accounting software.
  • Experience with Netsuite, Yardi, Appfolio, QuickBooks Online, and Sage Intacct is preferred but not required.
  • Proven relationship management skills.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly.

Our compensation is fair, transparent, and competitive. The estimated base pay range is $99,000 to $148,000, with offers typically not at the maximum to allow for future increases. Actual salary depends on various factors including location, skills, experience, and certifications.

Eligible employees may receive an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
