Job summary

Arizona Tile, LLC in Houston, TX is seeking an Outside Sales Support to promote products to new and existing customers and maximize sales and profitability. You will support the Sales staff with project setup and event processing.

The role requires 2+ years in retail sales, strong customer service and communication skills, ability to multi-task, and willingness to travel 25-45%. Work schedule Monday–Friday with some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 2+ years in retail sales with front-facing customer interaction; stone/slabs experience a plus.
• Functional skills: exceptional customer service, proactive problem solving, multi-tasking, and attention to detail.

What You Will Do:

As Outside Sales Support, you will maximize sales and profitability by actively promoting products to new and existing customers. You will support the Sales staff by assisting with the setup and processing of various projects and events.

Your Top Accountabilities in the Role:

• Assists the Sales Rep by looking for new business opportunities for the company.
• Develops, maintains, and grows client relationships, as well as maintain customer confidentiality.
• Participates in industry functions such as home shows and professional association meetings.
• Handle the Product Samples area to ensure accuracy in labeling, shipment to customer, and ordering of non-stocked material.
• Provides ongoing support in other areas of the branch as needed.

Position Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 2+ years of prior experience in retail sales within a professional environment and front facing customer interaction; product training provided. Prior work experience with stone, granite, or slabs is a plus.
• Functional Skills: Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to provide individualized service. A self-starter who proactively finds solutions to meet our customer needs with an ability to multi-task to handle various methods of customer interaction/needs (in person, phone, other). Good attention to detail with good math skills to calculate pricing, discounts, and interest. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; to respond to common inquires or complaints from Customers or the public.
• Technology Aptitude/Other: Good key boarding skills with intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Language Skills: Excellent verbal skills to work with our customers (in person or by telephone) and to speak effectively before groups of Customers or Employees of organization. Solid written skills to write routine reports and correspondence.

Other Important Information:

• Reports To: Sales Manager
• Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; with ability to work Saturdays as needed.
• Travel: 25%-45%
• Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the Employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The Employee works with and in proximity to material handling equipment including forklifts and cranes. The Employee works with and in proximity to packaged, cement-based products such as grouts and cleaning and sealing chemicals for tile and stone. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Physical Requirements: Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle and feel; to talk and hear; and to operate a motor vehicle, frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and is occasionally required to climb or balance. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required, color vision, close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
