Job summary

Texas First Rentals seeks a motivated sales professional to retain an existing customer base and drive growth in the San Marcos area. You will develop the assigned territory, implement sales plans to grow business, and collaborate closely with the District Sales Manager and Branch Manager to execute the plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one to three years of relevant experience; three to five years preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent with some college coursework or equivalent experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Sell and market rental and purchase of equipment.
• Provide service and support to existing customer base.
• Source new business opportunities.
• Prepare and present sales contracts/lease agreements.
• Prepare sales plans, sales reports, expense, and daily call reports.
• Develop new accounts and maintain accounts from the previous year.
• Formulate bids on new and existing jobs and projects.
• Identify and acquire new service contract opportunities.
• Receive customer orders and serve as the customer contact point.
• Generate a referral network to assist in increasing the client base.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the sales and marketing of rental and purchase of equipment
• Provides service and support of existing customer base
• Sourcing new business opportunities
• Prepares and presents sales contracts/lease agreements
• Prepares sales plans, sales reports, expense, and daily call reports
• Develops new accounts and maintaining accounts from previous year

• Occasionally assists in familiarizing customer on equipment and vehicles
• Aids in implementing, sustaining, and developing quality improvement processes that focus on safety, financials, operations, and customer service

• Demonstrated knowledge of construction equipment and rental industry
• Demonstrated knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales)
• Excellent selling, negotiating, and closing skills with ability to build long term business relationships
• Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
• Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of one to three years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. Three to five years of experience preferred

• Valid driver's license

Travel:

• Extensive driving required; overnight travel required

Physical Requirements:

• This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
• This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

• This job is generally performed in a retail and office environment; exposure to computer screens; exposure to noise, dust, grease, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions
• Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
