Job summary

Builders FirstSource, Inc. in Spanaway, WA, seeks a driven outside sales professional with a track record in building products, especially windows, and a passion for customer service.

You will prospect, develop and maintain relationships with single family builders, residential contractors and project managers, assess needs, recommend products, and provide knowledge to support decisions.

• Experience with lumber/building materials is advantageous.

Job description

We are searching for highly determined individuals who can provide exceptional customer service and have a track record of success in outside sales within the building products segment, in particular with windows. The successful candidate will be responsible for prospecting, building, and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers, assessing their needs, making product recommendations, and providing sound product knowledge and consultation. Our primary clients are single family builders, residential contractors, and project managers.

What You’ll Do:

• Represents the company during the sales process by collecting data on customer needs and design specifications.
• Develops sales contracts for a wide range of projects.
• Troubleshoots field issues which may be difficult to resolve or are complex in nature.
• Effectively plans and conducts sales presentations for current and prospective customers.
• Researches, identifies and solicits new customers. Generates sales opportunities through research on client needs, industry competition and effective demonstration of the features and benefits of the company’s products and services.
• Continuously updates customers on products and services and provides explanations how these products and services meet current or future customer requirements.

The ideal candidate would have experience in the lumber and building materials industry, as well as construction industry experience. We are willing to train the right candidate who fits in with our team.

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is further eligible to receive commission compensation for earned commissions related to sales of eligible Company products and/or services subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Commissions are based on a percentage of the transactions sold and subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable Commission Agreement.
