Job summary

Spectrum is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to connect with communities and represent our telecom offerings in-person. This role emphasizes outdoor visits to residential leads, consultative needs analyses, and compelling proposals to drive growth and customer satisfaction.

The position includes a base salary with incentives and potential total compensation over $100,000 annually. Expect 90% outdoor work, a need for evening and weekend availability, and travel to assigned territories

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Engaging interpersonal skills and a drive to succeed.
• Ability to listen, build needs-based sales strategies, and pitch products.
• Must travel to assigned territories and company facilities, including in inclement weather.
• Familiarity with consumer and business devices (PDAs, smartphones, routers, modems, set-top converters).
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to maximize customer contact.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Acquire new residential customers by visiting assigned leads and introducing Spectrum’s offerings.
• Conduct consultative needs analyses to tailor product recommendations.
• Present sales proposals that align with customer needs and Spectrum’s solutions.
• Complete all required sales documentation including dispositioning, order entry and reporting.
• Participate in sales meetings and training to support team goals and development.
• Achieve monthly sales targets across high-speed data, mobile, landline, and video services.
• Monitor competitors’ activities within your territory and report to your manager.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Education

• Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories and company facilities
• Familiarity with computer operating systems and software applications as well as consumer and commercial communication devices (e.g., PDAs, smartphones, routers, modems, set-top converters, and wireless devices)
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends, and as business needs dictate to maximize prospective customer contact
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• A valid driver’s license, car insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and the use of a reliable personal vehicle

Preferred Qualifications

Experience

• 2+ years sales or relevant work experience

Skills

• Success in a previous sales position, prospecting or cold calling; direct sales experience is preferred
• Knowledge of cable or telecommunications services, with an emphasis on data networking fundamentals and ability to educate consumers on related products and services as needed

Physical Requirements

• Travel door to door for extensive periods through local communities
• Able to lift and transport 10-20 pounds

The base pay for this position generally is between $27,600.00 and $45,800.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.

In addition, this position has a commission earnings target starting at $65,000.
