Job summary

Uniti Group’s Kinetic unit is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer II in Lexington, KY to design and develop network construction using fiber, copper, and related equipment. You will analyze requirements and work with field engineers and vendors to deliver safe, timely projects.

You will coordinate permits, ownership, and project documentation while applying engineering standards. Strong communication and CAD tools experience are a plus; PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 3–5 years of professional-level experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and manage competing demands.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and design outside plant facilities, including fiber and copper networks.
• Plan, analyze, and design outside plant network structures and facilities.
• Coordinate activities supporting development, construction, implementation, and maintenance of outside plant projects.
• Apply engineering practices and standards to resolve design/construction issues.
• Work with field engineers and vendors to support safe installation, timelines, and material use.
• Identify pole ownership, ROW, and permit requirements; communicate with permitting agencies.
• Maintain project documentation and complete administrative work.
• Assess challenges and propose practical solutions.
