Job summary

American Pop Corn Company is seeking an Outside Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and facility systems across our manufacturing sites.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, and repair or replace worn parts while documenting activities in our PM system. The role requires safe use of tools and collaboration to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Welding experience preferred; experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and routine equipment servicing.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Replace worn or defective parts and lubricate machinery and components as needed.
• Install, assemble, adjust, and repair production equipment and machinery.
• Maintain and repair grain-handling, agricultural, facility, vehicle, and grounds equipment as needed.
• Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, and other metalworking tasks to repair, modify, and maintain equipment and structures.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment conditions in PM system
• Monitor spare parts and assist with maintaining supply and parts inventory
• Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime
• Identify and recommend equipment, safety, reliability, and process improvements
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Work with industrial equipment including production machinery, conveyors, pumps, motors, belts, bearings, chains, gears, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, grain-handling equipment, tractors, vehicles, semi-trucks, and grounds equipment
• And other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Summary

The Outside Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery, facility systems, and related equipment throughout company facilities and grounds. This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

The role works with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and assists with equipment installations, changeovers, repairs, and continuous improvement projects.

Essential Functions

Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical

maintenance, manufacturing facilities maintenance, agricultural equipment, or a related field required.

Welding experience preferred. Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems

preferred. Experience with tractors, vehicles, semi-trucks, grain-handling equipment, or similar equipment is a

Skills and Competencies

Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform preventative maintenance and equipment repairs. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools. Ability to use computers and computerized maintenance system, including PMs. Ability to prioritize and respond to changing needs. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and follow established safety procedures.

Language Ability

Ability to read and comprehend manuals, maintenance instructions, and safety procedures. Ability to write simple and complex correspondence. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to understand instructions in English. Ability to effectively present information and communicate thoughts, ideas, and problems to fellow employees, small groups, and management on a one-on-one basis.

The work environment is in a manufacturing facility. The environment is often dynamic and collaborative, with collaboration being essential in this role. Employees will contribute to overall production goals, with employees supporting the efficiency and effectiveness of the manufacturing processes. This setting requires attention to detail, adherence to protocols, and the ability to adapt to the demands of the company. Working hours outside of standard office hours may be required.
