Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be determined by factors including role scope, complexity, location, candidate skills, education, credentials, experience, and other employment conditions. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentives as part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program.

What Is the Opportunity?

Under supervision, this role involves inspecting, estimating, negotiating, and evaluating 1st and 3rd party auto physical damage claims, including personal and business insurance claims. This includes damage assessment for collision, comprehensive, property damage, fire, theft, flood, lightning, and injury claims. The Auto Claim Professional will handle resolution and settlement, serving as a technical resource and providing guidance to claim staff. The role is fully remote, potentially involving mobile work and/or work from home, and does not include team leadership responsibilities.

What Will You Do?
  1. Deliver consistent service quality throughout the claim lifecycle, including prompt contact, clear communication, and follow-through.
  2. Manage work assignments efficiently, including travel to vehicle locations when needed.
  3. Scope claims using technical expertise and appraisal software to determine claim values.
  4. Establish damage claim values and prepare accurate appraisals in line with regulatory and corporate guidelines.
  5. Partner with Claim Professionals throughout the claim process to ensure proper resolution and pursue recovery sources.
  6. Negotiate claim settlements with customers and repair facilities to reach agreements within authority.
  7. Handle total loss claims, determining settlement amounts and coverage applicability.
  8. Coordinate payments and provide inspection assistance across various lines of business.
  9. Maintain timely claim and expense reserves and manage vehicle repair processes.
  10. Communicate damage assessments and obtain authorization for payments.
  11. Maintain required insurance licenses and participate in the Catastrophe Response Program, which may include deployment and extended travel.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Technical Degree preferred; state appraiser and claim licenses are advantageous.
  • At least two years of auto appraisal experience preferred; prior insurance carrier experience is a plus.
  • Strong auto repair knowledge, claim systems familiarity, and proficiency in Windows, Excel, and Word.
  • Participation in Auto Catastrophe response, including deployment and travel.
  • Excellent negotiation, ownership, customer service, teamwork, and compliance skills.
  • Basic analytical thinking, judgment, and communication skills; intermediate negotiation skills; basic insurance contract knowledge; basic principles of investigation; intermediate auto technical skills.
What is a Must Have?
  • High School Diploma or GED with at least one year auto appraisal experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
