Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range: $62,200.00 - $102,600.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for inspecting, estimating, negotiating, and evaluating 1st and 3rd party auto physical damage claims, including personal and business insurance claims. The claim types include collision, comprehensive, property damage related to autos, rental and towing, fire, theft, flood, lightning, diminished value claims, and injury-related claims. The Auto Claim Professional will handle resolution and settlement, serve as a technical resource, and provide advice to claim staff. This position is remote, may include mobile work, and does not lead others.

What Will You Do?
  1. Deliver consistent service quality throughout the claim lifecycle, including prompt contact, explaining processes, setting expectations, effective communication, and follow-through.
  2. Manage work assignments, travel to vehicle locations, and view vehicles/equipment as needed.
  3. Scope claims using technical expertise and software to determine claim value.
  4. Establish claim value and prepare damage appraisals following guidelines.
  5. Partner with Claim Professionals during the claim process to ensure optimal resolution.
  6. Negotiate claims with customers and repair facilities to reach agreements.
  7. Handle total loss claims, determine settlement amounts, and initiate payments.
  8. Assist other lines of business with inspections and catastrophe response.
  9. Review coverage, apply policy conditions, and manage repair processes.
  10. Maintain claim and expense reserves and manage the vehicle repair process.
  11. Communicate damage assessments and obtain authorization for payments.
  12. Maintain necessary insurance licenses and participate in catastrophe response, including deployment.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree, or Technical School Degree preferred; relevant licenses preferred.
  • Two years of auto appraisal experience preferred; insurance carrier experience advantageous.
  • Strong auto repair knowledge, claims systems familiarity, and proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word.
  • Participation in Auto Catastrophe response, including deployment.
  • Strong negotiation, ownership, teamwork, and compliance skills.
  • Basic analytical thinking, judgment, and communication skills; intermediate negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of insurance contracts and investigation principles; intermediate auto technical knowledge.
What is a Must Have?
  • High School Degree or GED with at least one year auto appraisal experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
