Gulfstream Park Racing is seeking an outrider in Boynton Beach, FL to lead horses to the starting gates and supervise procession safety. You will work closely with trainers and jockeys to ensure orderly movement and quick response to incidents.

The role requires extensive riding ability, sharp track knowledge, and a calm, strong demeanor. Weekend and holiday availability is essential to cover racing schedules and event days.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working with live thoroughbred horses.

Job Overview

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The employee is very regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with live animals, and extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to loud.
