  • Currently holds or is actively pursuing a license in the State of West Virginia as one of the following: LCSW, LICSW, LGSW, LPC, LP or pursuing Licensure as a Psychologist.
  • Six months to one-year experience with MI, I/DD or SUD populations.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English; proficient in using EMR software.

NATURE OF WORK: As a member of the treatment team, the therapist is responsible for assessing, planning and providing for psychotherapy/counseling services for consumers. This involves the application of standardized assessment tools, therapy and counseling techniques, and crisis intervention services. The Therapists advocates on behalf of the client, plans and sets treatment goals and objectives with the client and then evaluates the progress toward these goals. Provides counseling for individual, group and family.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Assesses clients needs and evaluates the clients progress.Keeps treatment plans and reviews current information for the assigned caseload.Develops measurable, observable, time-limited, independence-promoting objectives for inclusion in the treatment plan to address clients goals. Clarifies clients therapy objectives with clients, clients families, and other treatment team members.Evaluates progress towards treatment objective(s) and revises treatment plan(s) as needed.Uses clear communication skills, including people first language with clients and other professionals.Links clients with necessary resources and services within the community to address client needs.Conducts individual, family, and group counseling sessions with clients.Completes and submits documentation as required by Valley, Medicaid, Medicare, Private Insurances and any other licensing agencies. Employee ensures that documentation (such as Direct Services Progress Notes, Clinical Summaries, etc.) are completed accurately and timely and will reflect services the client(s) has received as appropriate.Participate in treatment plan meetings, staffing, and clinical meetings.Provides crisis services and intervention and/or assistance with consideration of the principles of client choice and least restrictive alternatives.Evaluates therapeutic interventions, assess additional needs, and modify interventions as indicated to achieve therapeutic goals.Attends all mandated trainings related to profession and enhances knowledge and/or skills which includes e-Learnings assigned through the Learning Management System (LMS)Adheres to Valleys Standards of Conduct and Compliance and adheres to professional code of ethics in performing therapy services.Staff spends time participating in group or individual supervision with his/her supervisor. It is expected that clinical staff will seek supervision/ consultation at both scheduled and unscheduled times. For employees whose license requires specific supervision, employee has met requirements for clinical supervision based on licensure definitions.Meets productivity standards of the Outpatient Division.Promotes appropriate community interactions by handling public interactions in a professional and competent manner. Returns telephone calls and requests for information in a timely manner, promotes a positive image of the agency, and maintains a good rapport with agency contacts.Supports and helps in the training of new employees.OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNEDMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Ability to perform Essential Duties as outlined below.Masters Degree in a Human Service Field.Currently holds or is actively pursuing a license in the State of West Virginia as one of the following: Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychologist (LP) or pursuing Licensure as a Psychologist (Gold Card). If holding a provisional LPC License, must obtain a regular license as soon as eligible or at maximum within two (2) years from date of hire.Six months to one-year experience with MI, I/DD or SUD populations.Knowledge of various diagnostic categories and clinical manifestations.Previous experience in counseling adults and/or children. Minimum one-year experience.Ability to comply with Clients Rights and Mandatory Reporting requirements.Ability to comply with Valleys and Division departmental safety procedures.Ability to read, write, understand and speak the English language.Ability to use E-Mail communicationsAbility to use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software for consumer recordsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Academic Coursework in Psychotherapy/counseling techniques.Two years of full-time experience as a Therapist.
