Job summary

River Edge Behavioral Health in Macon, GA seeks a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join the Adult Addictive Disease Outpatient Program. You will provide individual counseling, lead group sessions, and conduct assessments to support recovery from substance use disorders.

The role emphasizes coordinated, client-centered care with a multidisciplinary team. Certification/licensure and at least two years in social services are preferred. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• CAC I/II or CADC I/II OR LMSW or LPC with a minimum of two years’ experience in a social service-related role.
• Experience facilitating group therapy and skills training is preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling to clients and families affected by substance use disorders.
• Facilitate group counseling sessions, including process therapy and educational sessions on addiction topics.
• Conduct confidential behavioral health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
