Job summary

BayCare Health System, Winter Haven Hospital, is seeking an Outpatient Speech Therapist Pool for PRN coverage. The clinician will assess and treat adults with communication, cognitive-linguistic, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in an outpatient setting.

The role requires an MS in Speech-Language Pathology, Florida state licensure, CCC-SLP, and BLS certification; you will document findings in the EMR and collaborate with a multidisciplinary rehab team to deliver patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Florida State License in Speech-Language Pathology.
• CCC‑SLP (ASHA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing evaluations for outpatient populations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient goals.
• Provide evidence‑based therapy for adult patients.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, progress, and home exercise programs.
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely in the EMR.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction efforts.

Education

Winter Haven Hospital part of the BayCare Health System is seeking a compassionate and motivated Outpatient Speech ‑ Language Pathologist (SLP) Pool/PRN to join our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. The Speech Therapist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with communication, cognitive‑linguistic, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in an outpatient setting. This role provides the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population while delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Outpatient Speech Therapist (SLP) Pool/PRN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing evaluations for outpatient populations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient goals
• Provide evidence‑based therapy for adult patients
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, progress, and home exercise programs
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals

Patient Populations May Include

• Neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease)
• Voice and fluency disorders
• Cognitive‑communication disorders
• Dysphagia

Qualifications Required:

• Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology
• Florida State License in Speech‑Language Pathology
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) from ASHA
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
