Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking a registered nurse to join the Surgical Support Nursing team at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY. This full-time position provides direct patient care in a fast-paced surgical center with 8- or 10-hour shifts.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, recovery and discharge, and supporting unit activities under leadership. Candidates must hold an NYS RN license and a nursing degree, with 6–12 months of RN experience; ACLS/Telemetry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State RN license.
• Minimum 6–12 months of RN experience.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent direct patient care based on established standards.
• Contribute to unit activities and support improvements in care delivery.
• May assume charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
• FT position available Mon-Fri, D/E, no holidays, weekends or nights; 8 or 10 hour shifts.
