Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Mission Bay, San Francisco, CA 94158 – Prime location for California nursing jobs with access to parks, restaurants, and the scenic San Francisco Bay.
• Healthcare Setting: Outpatient Cardiology Ambulatory Clinic
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Locum Tenens)
• Assignment Duration: 7 weeks (September 22, 2025 – November 10, 2025)
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts per week (08:00 – 16:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Unit: Cardiology Ambulatory Clinic

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent outpatient cardiology nursing experience
• Experience with telephone triage and in-basket triage
• Ability to float to other UCSF healthcare facilities within a 75-mile radius
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Prior travel nursing experience within the last 12 months
• Experience with electronic charting systems (Epic EMR preferred)
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations preferred
• Previous teaching hospital or academic medical center experience preferred
  
  

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality clinical care in an outpatient cardiology clinic setting
• Perform telephone triage, in-basket triage, follow-up calls, and manage pharmacy/patient refill requests
• Assist with in-person cardiac testing, including agitated saline studies with sonography
• Float to other UCSF healthcare locations as needed
• Interpret laboratory results, reconcile medications, and document comprehensive patient health histories
• Obtain vital signs, perform dressing changes, and prepare aseptic/sterile procedure trays
• Collect and label specimens (capillary, throat, urine, venipuncture/phlebotomy)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide patient-centered care
