Inova Primary Care – Annandale in Annandale, VA seeks a dedicated Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to join a full-time day shift team (Mon-Fri, 8:30am–5:00pm).

The RN will perform intakes, med reconciliations, vaccinations, phlebotomy and provide holistic care in a physician practice, emphasizing patient education and safety. BSN required; ADN accepted with BSN within 5 years; Virginia RN license or eligibility; BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing; ADN candidates must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Licensure: RN licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.
• Experience: 0 years of RN clinical experience.
• Preferred: 2 years RN experience in ambulatory medicine.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential duties in clinic or outpatient settings, including full intakes.
• Reconciliation of medications and vaccinations/injections/phlebotomy.
• Provides safe, holistic care in a physician practice setting with patient education.
• Guides and mentors others, ensures efficient care delivery, and supports team productivity.
• Makes independent clinical decisions based on education and experience.

Full Intakes

Reconciliation of Medications

Vaccinations/Injections/Phlebotomy

Provides safe/therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. Incorporates differences into the provision of care while integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families to include patient and family education. Achieves desired patient outcomes by using an integrated approach.

Incorporates data and information to improve care and enhances outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor.

Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care. Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems. Works with the team to achieve maximum productivity.

Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

Licensure: RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.

Experience: 0 years of registered nurse clinical experience.

Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of experience as a RN in ambulatory medicine
