Job summary

TherapySouth in Alabama is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist or Staff Physical Therapist Assistant to join our outpatient orthopedics team. You will evaluate, plan, and administer physical therapy programs tailored to each patient’s needs.

Responsibilities include documenting patient progress, supervising assistants, maintaining flexibility for a fluctuating daily caseload, and instructing patients and families for home treatment. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an APTA approved physical therapy program.
• Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
• Duties require extensive standing and walking.
• Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of physical therapy treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent dysfunction in patients.
• Complete patient related documentation.
• Supervise physical therapist assistants and supportive personnel for accurate and timely completion of delegated job tasks.
• Flexibility in treating a varying daily patient load including evaluations, walk-ins and follow up visits.
• Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
• Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
• Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the company.
