Job summary

Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health team in an outpatient setting. This part-time, hospital-employed position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients across a broad spectrum of mental health conditions.

The Psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients, develop individualized treatment plans while promoting long term wellness and recovery.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completed residency and internship.
• Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry.
• Knowledge of outpatient psychiatric care and patient evaluation.
• Ability to supervise, advise, and teach clinical professionals or residents.
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR and medical documentation.

This part-time, hospital-employed position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients across a broad spectrum of mental health conditions. The Psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients, develop individualized treatment plans while promoting long term wellness and recovery. Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

• Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and successful completion of a residency and internship.
• Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
• Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
• Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
• Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
• Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
• Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
• Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
• Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED:

• Current NYS Certification/Licensure
• Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty, Medical Specialty License or Certification if applicable
