Job summary

Preventive Measures in Washington, DC seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management for youth and adults, under a Collaborative Practice Agreement. You will conduct assessments, diagnose and treat, prescribe meds, maintain records, and collaborate with counselors and social workers.

This contractor role requires strong clinical skills, excellent written records, and the ability to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
• Strong writing and record-keeping; adhere to CPPA and state Nurse Practice Act.
• Experience with crisis assessment and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric services in various clinical settings during scheduled hours.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat adults, adolescents, and children with behavioral health symptoms.
• Prescribe and manage medications per Collaborative Practice Agreement and state law.
• Collaborate with counselors, social workers and treatment team members to coordinate care.
• Maintain timely and accurate medical records, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing entries.
• Prepare and submit assessments, progress notes and summaries to funders and agencies.
