Job summary

FHCSD, Oceanside Family Counseling Center, seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team in North County, CA. The role emphasizes comprehensive mental health care, intake evaluations, and coordination across multiple care services within a busy outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Medical Doctorate, is board certified or eligible, and possesses a California license (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in outpatient mental health settings.
• Board certified or board eligible in a primary care field.
• Current unrestricted license to practice in California or ability to obtain.
• DEA license.
• CPR/BLS/ACLS or Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete full intake mental health evaluations.
• Order diagnostic procedures and labs as indicated.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic mental health issues.
• Develop and implement effective care plans based on patient needs.
• Prescribe and manage medications as appropriate.
• Provide NP support and consultation to outpatient clinics.
• Document properly per departmental standards and EMR requirements.
• Contribute to Clinical Outcomes Program and organizational targets.
