Job summary

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for outpatient psychiatry within the Department of Psychiatry. The Instructor will deliver direct clinical care to high‑risk adults, oversee NP students, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive evaluation, treatment and continuity of care.

The role requires Colorado NP licensure with prescriptive authority eligibility, BLS, and experience in substance use and mental health

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with Colorado certification and prescriptive authority eligibility.
• BLS required.
• Prior supervision/teaching experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prescribe medications and manage MAT for high‑risk adults.
• Provide direct psychiatric care in outpatient setting.
• Perform medical evaluations and follow-up for treatment plans.
• Educate and collaborate with multidisciplinary team.
• Supervise NP students and participate in grant projects.
• Identify risk factors and ensure patient safety.
