The salary range for this position is $52.00 - $58.00 (Hourly Rate). Placement within the salary range is dependent on relevant work experience, internal equity, and collective bargaining agreement rules.

Description

Physical Therapist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, regulatory and accreditation standards.

  • Licensed physical therapist compliant with the Code of Ethics/Standards of Practice in Illinois.
  • Provides direct patient care, teaching, committee participation, and departmental process improvement.
  • Serves as a role model for all therapists and clinical interns in professional, clinical, communication, education and leadership activities.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates the four NM values: teamwork, patients first, integrity, excellence.
  • Presents a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients; addresses questions and concerns promptly and directs patients to appropriate resources.
  • Uses service recovery skills to resolve problems or breakdowns.
  • Maintains primary responsibility over patient plan of care through timely and consistent collaboration with treating PT/PTA staff.
  • Demonstrates teamwork by helping co‑workers within and across departments.
  • Communicates effectively, respects diverse opinions, and acknowledges contributions of others.
  • Uses unit resources efficiently.
  • Manages work schedule efficiently, completing tasks on time.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement opportunities and processes.
  • Participates in efforts to reduce costs and streamline work processes.

  • Exhibits essential skill competencies in selecting appropriate evaluation and treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols; performs re‑evaluations per guidelines.
  • Assumes complete responsibility over patient management from initial contact to discharge for functional progress, safety, and outcomes.
  • Adheres to department policy regarding evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries; documents all in EMR.
  • Completes daily notes reflecting patient response, performance, assessment, and discharge needs, meeting documentation requirements.
  • Provides educational materials appropriate to patients’ level of understanding and motivation.
  • Participates in committees, departmental processes, and special projects per clinical expertise and performance plan.
  • Builds professional relationships with healthcare team members; participates in internal and external marketing as expected.
  • Creates a culture of respectful communication; listens, seeks input, engages in open conversation, approachability, and acknowledges contributions.
  • Accepts constructive feedback and incorporates timely changes.
  • Completes non‑patient responsibilities within established timelines.
  • Contributes to educational efforts (in‑services, journal clubs, orientation, PI) per expectations.
  • Acts as clinical instructor, mentor, or observation host in student programs.
  • Maintains productivity standards.
  • Demonstrates willingness to flex schedule or assignments to meet patient, staff, and departmental needs outside normal hours.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Illinois.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
Preferred
  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy.
