Job summary

AdventHealth in Deland, FL is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient care at 151 Victoria Commons Blvd Ste 107. The role includes floating to Orange City, Waterman, New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach and Palm Coast as needed, with a Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm schedule.

You will implement individualized treatment plans, document care, and assist in supervising rehabilitation aides. A PTA degree and BLS are required, with bilingual abilities preferred to serve diverse patients.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or PTA program completion.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Bilingual is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements individualized treatment plans based on physical therapy evaluations and insurance guidelines.
• Oversees care provided by rehabilitation aides and coordinates activities.
• Maintains patient data and discharge recommendations with therapists.
• Documents patient care accurately using CPT codes and insurance guidelines.

Job Description:

• Location: 151 Victoria Commons Blvd Ste 107, Deland, FL 32724 but will also be required to float to Orange City, Waterman, New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach and Palm Coast.
• Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
• Practices principles of employee and patient safety during daily job activities.
• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures, and other extensions of clinical expertise to the community.
• Implements individualized treatment plans based on physical therapy evaluations and through consideration of practice standards, recommended techniques, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
• Modifies treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments in consultation with physical therapist.
• Collects patient data and communicates with the physical therapists regarding discharge recommendations when maximum benefit has been achieved.
• Documents patient care accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines, and department/hospital policies.
• Charges patients accurately and timely according to CPT code format, price file, and insurance guidelines.
• Oversees the care provided by rehabilitation aides according to established regulations and practice standards, and may involve coordinating activities of rehabilitation aides, students, and other support personnel.
• Evaluates and interprets patient data relative to age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms, modifying approaches and communication skills accordingly.
• Identifies the need for patient and caregiver education, utilizing opportunities for teaching and documenting understanding as appropriate.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports departmental quality standards and initiatives.
• Maintains clinical competencies through professional development, best practices, and serving as a clinical instructor.
• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Ability to read, write, and speak conversational English effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal, and electronic formats
