Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in California seeks a licensed Pharmacist to counsel patients and medical staff on medication therapy, and to oversee pharmacy operations. You will dispense, compound, procure, store and distribute pharmaceutical products while ensuring accuracy and safety.

You will provide direction to Pharmacist Residents, Pharmacist Interns, and Pharmacy Technicians, and you must pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license (California) required.

Essential Responsibilities

• Consults with patients and medical personnel regarding medication therapy. Provides direction to Pharmacist Residents, Pharmacist Interns, Pharmacy Technicians, and other non-licensed personnel. Dispenses, compounds, procures, stores, and distributes pharmaceutical products. Provides medical personnel and patient with medication information and product identification.

Additional Requirements

• Knowledge of Federal and State laws, regulations, and standard regarding the provision of pharmaceutical services.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to extract pertinent information from the patient or other sources and relate it to the patients medical management plan.
• Must be able to operate the pharmacy computer system(s) and other equipment.
• Must be able to input prescription labels.
• MUST BE ABLE TO PASS BACKGROUND CHECK.
• Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
