Job summary

UPMC in Lemoyne is seeking a full-time Outpatient Professional Staff Nurse (RN) to join the Children\'s Specialty Services team. The position offers a Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm shift with no weekends or holidays required, and up to 25% travel to Lancaster, Chambersburg, and York as needed.

The role focuses on delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care within an interdisciplinary team, coordinating plans, and supporting education for patients and families across the continuum of care.

Qualifications

• Needs: strong clinical nursing skills and ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
• Must be able to collaborate with physicians, APPs, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience delivering patient-centered care and educating families is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered nursing care that supports safety and quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and develop plans.
• Assess, triage, and manage patient needs with clinical judgment.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and self-care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation to ensure continuity of care.
• Serve as patient advocate to help navigate care and resources.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice.
• Support onboarding and mentorship of students and new staff.
• Engage in governance and process improvements to advance nursing practice.
• Build positive relationships with patients, families, providers and team members.
• Promote a culture of safety and professional development.
