Job summary

You will join a collaborative team in the MMC Rehab OT SLW unit at Saint Lucie West Med Center, with a daytime schedule and opportunities for professional growth. Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients across age groups, developing treatment plans, and documenting progress for physicians and payers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master and/or Doctoral Degree from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy
• Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the State of Florida
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Internship experience

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and apply therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of functional limitations
• Provide OT services to clients with upper extremity injuries, disease or disability
• Evaluate clients including joint assessment, musculoskeletal functions and sensorimotor skills
• Develop and implement treatment plans to achieve goals
• Utilize OT techniques such as P/ROM, joint mobilization, massage and desensitization
• Use modalities like heat, cold, ultrasound, TENS, NMES and biofeedback
• Fabricate splints and train clients in use of adaptive devices
• Communicate with caregivers and family about patients’ status
• Provide written status reports to referring physicians and other parties
• Assist Industrial Service Department clients when needed
• Follow PPE protocols and infection control procedures
