Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Missouri is seeking an Oncology Nurse for our outpatient setting at Town & Country MoBap Campus. The role offers 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, Mon-Fri, with a sign-on bonus eligible.

You'll provide direct patient care, educate patients and families, develop care plans with the interprofessional team, and participate in safety and quality initiatives within a Magnet hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: No previous experience required.
• License: Registered Nurse (RN).
• Supervisor Experience: None required.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Preferred Experience: Prior Oncology or related clinical experience desirable.
• Chemo certification: Chemo certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance; engages in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family or caregiver, ensuring communication across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care; assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
• Maintains continuous alertness and works safely in a safety-sensitive environment.

Outpatient Cancer Center

Provides intravenous administration of medication, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and blood products. Offers direct specialized patient care and education for the outpatient Oncology population, including Hematology patients and non‑Oncology infusions.

Role Purpose
