Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for outpatient management of neurosurgical and nonoperative spine patients at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Peoria, IL. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a team of neurosurgeons and APPs.

The role involves conducting patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing education. Candidates must be licensed for Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant Services and have qualifications for prescribing narcotics.

Qualifications

Job description

Excellent opportunity to join a team‑oriented group of APPs, Physiatrist, and Neurosurgeons caring for neurosurgical and nonoperative spine patients at a Level 1 Trauma Center located in beautiful Peoria, IL.

Position Summary

4‑10 or 5‑8 hour shifts Monday through Friday. Predominantly outpatient service management of neurosurgical and nonoperative spine patients. The APP (Advanced Practice Provider) performs the following tasks in the outpatient setting:

Responsibilities

• Obtain a patient history
• Perform a physical examination
• Conduct a comprehensive assessment
• Order, conduct and interpret diagnostic tests
• Formulate a diagnostic impression
• Develop and implement a treatment plan
• Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
• Prescribe pharmacological agents and treatments and non‑pharmacological therapies
• Facilitate appropriate consultations and referrals
• Provide counseling and education to meet patient needs

Practice Model

8 primary neurosurgeons and 7 APPs, 1 Physiatrist. MD, APP, and Neurosurgery Residency service (UICOMP). Elective volume; 80:20 spine.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed to provide Advanced Practice Nurse Services or Physician Assistant Services
• Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an RN or APN in neuroscience, stroke, or neurosurgery.

Clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $55.20 - $70.09.
