Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch in League City seeks a Medical Assistant to provide technical, supportive, age-appropriate patient care in the outpatient clinic. You will support the care team and help ensure an efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, specimen collection and blood draws, basic tests, medication reconciliation, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. CPR certification required; HS diploma or equivalent; CMA/RMA preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient flow within outpatient clinic.
• Obtains vital signs and documents chief complaint.
• Uses aseptic technique and infection control measures.
• Collects specimens and performs venipuncture for blood draws.
• Performs basic tests (urine chemistry, pH, glucose, etc.).
• Documents interventions and communicates with care team.
• Maintains clean, safe environment and equipment.
• Reconciles medications as directed and administers as assigned.
• Responds to call-lights and provides comfort to patient/family.
