Job summary

The MetroHealth System is hiring a Medical Assistant for our outpatient settings. You will schedule patients, perform screenings, take vitals and assist with vaccinations and procedures under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma, completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent, and current or soon-to-be BLS certification. We offer tuition reimbursement, certification incentives, and strong health plans.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalency.
• Complete Medical Assistant program or equivalent with related experience.
• BLS certification or become certified within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients, obtain pre-authorizations, and register patients.
• Perform basic medical screenings and collect specimens.
• Take vital signs, EKGs, and assist with procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Support providers with sterile and non-sterile tasks.
• Assist with patient data entry and documentation in systems.
