Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support an outpatient clinic within the UC Irvine health system. The incumbent will perform non-licensed medical care and handle clerical tasks to keep the office running smoothly.

Strong English communication, medical terminology knowledge, and a flexible, customer-focused approach are essential, with BLS certification required on hire. Experience in ambulatory care or phlebotomy is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

Understanding of medical terminology.
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
BLS certification upon hire.
Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment.
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
Ability to communicate effective manner with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Incumbent performs non-licensed medical care in an assigned outpatient clinical setting.
Performs clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.
