Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County is seeking a Medical Assistant to support outpatient clinics. The incumbent performs non-licensed medical care and clerical tasks essential to daily operations.

Requirements include a Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency, excellent English communication, and BLS certification on hire. Knowledge of ambulatory care and bilingual abilities are preferred. Flexible to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• BLS certification upon hire.
• Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
