Reston Hospital Center is seeking a Mammographer to perform diagnostic, screening, and interventional mammography. You will assist physicians during interventional procedures while upholding radiation safety and patient privacy.

Ongoing professional development is encouraged to enhance patient care. Responsibilities include performing screening and diagnostic mammograms per ACR guidelines, stereotactic biopsies, and DEXA bone density studies, with clear patient communication and adherence to

Formación

• Graduate of a radiologic technology program approved by the AMA Council on Medical Education.
• Current ARRT certification as RT(R) and Mammographer (M).
• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Job Summary

The mammographer performs diagnostic, screening and interventional mammography procedures. Assists physicians during interventional procedures. Practices radiation safety and observes universal precautions at all times. Pursues professional development for the continual improvement of patient care. Performs related work as required.

• Performs all diagnostic and screening mammograms per ACR guidelines and departmental protocols.
• Performs stereotactic biopsies.
• Performs bone density studies (DEXA).
• Communicates with the patient the nature of the procedure and answers questions clarifying the procedure for the patient.
• Assures patients rights and privacy are maintained.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of a program in radiologic technology approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or documented equivalent education.
• Current certification by the American Registry of Radiology: Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as an RT(R) and Mammographer (M).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
