Job summary

SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse is seeking an LPN for per diem roles at our clinics. The position greets patients, directs them to exam rooms, and prepares for exams, including setting up supplies and taking vital signs.

You will assist during exams and handle related office tasks such as scheduling, chart prep, and coordinating referrals with insurers and physicians. Minimum qualifications include NYS licensure as an LPN and current BLS certification.

• Outpatient setting experience preferred.

Job Summary:Greet patients, direct to exam rooms, prepare for exam. Routine assistance during exams: set up trays for injections, measure and record progress of patients, take and record vital signs. Assist with general office duties, reception, appointment scheduling, filing and chart preparation. Contact various insurance companies to obtain authorizations for physical therapy, MR's, CT's, surgery, etc. Contact primary care physicians to obtain referrals on new patients or extensions of referrals on current patients.Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered LPN. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in an outpatient setting (specialty area) strongly preferred.

Per diem - varies
