Job summary

Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialists of CNY in Cortland, NY, is seeking a dependable LPN or RN to join our busy outpatient practice. You will work with physicians, nursing staff, and office personnel to deliver hands-on allergy and immunology care.

The role emphasizes patient education, injections, and accurate documentation in a fast-paced clinic. Prior outpatient experience is preferred, and a NY license is required.

Qualifications

• Current New York State LPN license or New York State RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification preferred.
• Experience in outpatient, primary care, allergy/asthma, or specialty-office settings is preferred but not required.
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
• Comfortable administering injections and medications.
• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in a patientb condition.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation.
• Ability to multitask in a busy medical office.

Responsibilities

• Administer allergy immunotherapy injections and monitor patients following injections.
• Administer biologic medications and other physician-ordered injections.
• Monitor patients for allergic reactions and respond to emergencies.
• Perform and assist with pulmonary function testing and other allergy/asthma testing.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medication histories, and patient information.
• Room patients for provider exams and assist during visits as needed.
• Perform telephone triage and communicate patient concerns to providers.
• Process prescription refill requests and provider orders.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, injections, testing, and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
