Job summary

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic Outlet Processor to support the Bannister team in Kansas City. You will handle donations, sort items for sale, ensure safety and quality, and assist customers with a positive service mindset.

The role is hourly, full-time, with a starting rate of $15.50 per hour and potential bonuses up to $250 per month. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, retirement plans, PTO, paid holidays, and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• No degree required; HS diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, and management.
• Must be organized and able to interact with a diverse work population.
• Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Handles all donations with care and respect.
• Sorts donations into bins and categories.
• Inspect donated goods and remove potentially harmful items for safety and quality for online sales.
• Maintain high quality and quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
• Transports bins to and from the sales floor safely and efficiently.
• Keep store, warehouse, and donation dock clean and organized per procedures.
• Provide positive customer service to in-person customers, donors, and callers.
• Foster professional relationships with team members and leadership and coordinate with other teams.
• Read and follow all procedures and agency policies
• Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Safeguard assets from harm or theft and report incidents.
• Adhere to all policies and safety regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Handles all donations with care and respect.
• Tip donations into bins and sort goods into categories.
• Inspect donated goods and remove potentially harmful items for safety and high-quality items for online sales.
• Maintain high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
• Efficiently and safely transports bins to and from the sales floor.
• Straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the store, including the sales floor, warehouse, and donation dock, efficiently to adhere to Goodwill Retail Procedures.
• Provide positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assistance, and thanks, to in-person customers, donors, and those over the phone.
• Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and works cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
• Read and follow all operational procedures and agency employee handbook policies
• Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
• Safeguard agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
• Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Individual and family medical benefits for full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week.
