Job summary

Solitude Lake Management seeks an Aquatic Technician to preserve aquatic ecosystems and deliver expert water body management services. Join a Rentokil family company that values environmental stewardship and client satisfaction.

You will operate boats, treat water, collect samples, and support customers with safe, reliable fieldwork in outdoor environments. Prior outdoor experience and strong communication are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of experience working independently in an outdoor environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Have strong written and verbal skills.
  • Available to work Monday-Friday and weekends as needed.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a motorboat multiple times throughout the day and attach to assigned vehicle.
  • Treat water for algae, submersed weeds, shoreline weeds, non-desirable buffer vegetation and any other unwanted vegetation.
  • At times obtain water samples to send to the lab for water quality analysis.
  • Provide superior service and fulfil all company contracts, service orders, and related customer needs.
  • Remove nuisance, invasive vegetation through manual removal efforts (occasionally).
  • Work with experienced Aquatic Specialists in the field to gain knowledge on servicing aspects of water body management.
  • Great communication skills to discuss the service effectively with customers.

What do our Aquatic Technicians do?

The primary purposes for this role is preserving the natural ecological balance of our aquatic ecosystems while providing our clients with superior value and expertise in the field. Aquatic Technicians play a key role in preserving our environment. When these technicians service aquatics it helps to ensure the health of the water and the safety of those who use it.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

Physical Demands

The work requires strenuous physical exertion and the employee may be required to drive, stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time, as well as see, talk, hear and use hands and arms to grasp, handle, reach, and feel. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Conditions

Mostly outside (without protection from weather; extreme heat-above 100 and/or cold-below 32 for more than one hour) environmental conditions. Hazardous physical conditions, such as mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights and scaffolding, chemical exposure, and/or high heat. Atmospheric conditions may affect the respiratory system of the skin, such as fumes, mold, mist, gas, poor ventilation. Exposure to animals and insects. Meet physical requirements and/or pass medical certification in compliance with state and/or federal regulatory requirements and company safety policies relating to carrying and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to an OSHA compliant respirator.
