Job summary

The position emphasizes adherence to NIH/OLAW/AAALAC standards, safety procedures, and collaboration with Principal Investigators to provide technical and experimental support while working

Qualifications

  • Six months to one year of relevant work experience in animal care.
  • Experience in outdoor animal husbandry and care of laboratory animals.
  • Ability to handle laboratory animals in a manner that avoids injury and controls disease.
  • Ability to recognize signs of illness and abnormal behavior.
  • Ability to capture animals in a net within a half acre enclosure on uneven terrain.

Responsibilities

  • Routine animal care for outdoor and indoor primate facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Provide experimental assistance as needed by PIs.
  • Assist with modifications and repairs to outdoor caging structures.
