Woods Machinery in Green Brook Township, NJ, seeks an experienced Outdoor Power Equipment Mechanic to join our team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial mowers, tractors, and landscape equipment with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with small engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and the ability to work independently or with a crew.

Qualifications

• Experience as Outdoor Power Equipment Mechanic or Small Engine Mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for gasoline engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
• Experience servicing commercial landscaping equipment such as mowers, blowers, chainsaws, and compact utility equipment.
• Proficient with computers and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on outdoor power equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks: oil changes, filter replacements, blade sharpening, belts.
• Inspect equipment to identify issues and prevent breakdowns.
• Interpret manuals and schematics to troubleshoot and repair efficiently.
• Document maintenance and repair activities with detailed service records.
• Meet allocated flat-rate or estimated hours for each repair task.
• Maintain clean, safe work area.
• Assist with equipment setup and pre-delivery inspections.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
