Small Engine Mechanic

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of outdoor power equipment, including small engines, lawnmowers, generators, and other outdoor machinery. Your expertise will ensure that equipment operates efficiently and reliably for our customers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse tools and technologies while providing exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. Duties

• Diagnose issues on small engines, including carburetors, ignition systems, fuel systems, and electrical components using schematics and technical manuals
• Perform repairs and maintenance on outdoor power equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and generators
• Conduct diesel engine repairs and troubleshoot electrical systems to ensure optimal performance
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and heavy lifting techniques to complete repairs accurately and safely
• Interpret technical schematics and mechanical diagrams to identify problem areas and execute repairs efficiently
• Test repaired equipment for proper operation before returning it to the customer or inventory
• Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair status clearly to team members and customers

Qualifications

• Proven dealership experience or service technician background in outdoor power equipment or similar fields
• Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines, diesel engines, automotive repair, and equipment repair
• Experience reading schematics and electrical diagrams with confidence
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, soldering, and electrical troubleshooting
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
