Job summary

Montgomery Parks is seeking a Nursery and Grounds Assistant at Pope Farm Nursery in Gaithersburg, Maryland. You will support staff with grounds maintenance, irrigation, and plant production tasks, helping care for trees and shrubs from container to field grown material.

The role requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather, lift up to 50 pounds, and collaborate with team members to ensure safe, efficient operations at our production facility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in grounds maintenance, landscape, nursery or related horticulture field.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• General Facility Grounds Maintenance: operate zero turn mowers, light pruning, and debris cleanup.
• Plant Production Related Tasks: irrigation system use and monitoring, pulling plant orders, loading/unloading trucks.
• Support tasks: staking, tying, and assisting in plant care and operations as needed.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and safely operate tools and equipment.
