Job summary

State of Tennessee in Rogersville, TN, seeks a Wildlife Equipment Operator to perform operating heavy and light equipment for road, boat ramp, and hatchery work. This is a full-time, on-site role with a 4-day schedule and weekly travel for most of the year.

Candidates must have at least three years of skilled labor and at least one year operating construction equipment; a valid driver’s license and CDL endorsement within 12 months are required.

Qualifications

• Experience equivalent to three years of skilled, full-time labor and trades experience including at least one year operating construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates and utilizes a variety of equipment including but not limited to bulldozers, backhoes, road graders, dump trucks, tractors, dirt pans and bush hogs.
• Utilizes a variety of equipment and tools to move, load, off-load, haul, and stockpile dirt, refuse, and other materials; dig holes, trenches, and ditches; clean culverts; grade roads.
• Assists with training of new personnel within the work unit, including worksite safety requirements and job site standards.
• Sets up or inspects equipment prior to operation.
• Repairs and replaces damaged or worn parts.
