Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Distribution Field Technician in Dayton, OH to support safe, reliable electrical distribution systems. The role focuses on field inspections, data collection, and documenting equipment on poles, with an emphasis on outdoor work and physical activity.

You will map low voltage systems, prepare minor work orders, and maintain detailed reports while collaborating with team members to meet weekly goals. The position is contract to hire and fully onsite in Dayton.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform detailed visual inspections of outdoor electrical distribution equipment.
• Capable of accurately collecting, recording, and organizing field data for reports and orders.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to use Excel for data entry and reporting.
• Familiarity with field measurement tools (height sticks, range finders) and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Report to Dayton-area office daily and prepare for field assignments.
• Conduct visual inspections of overhead and underground equipment to support safe operation.
• Compile field data and prepare minor work orders from inspection findings.
• Maintain organized reports of distribution equipment, inspections, and measurements.
• Assist with pole inventories, mapping of Low Voltage Distribution (LVD) systems, and data entry.
