Job summary

Community Ed within Rockwood R-6 School District in Ellisville, Missouri is hiring an Outdoor Education Instructor. This temporary position pays $21 per hour and offers 4-8 hour shifts, day or evening, with hours varying by season.

Instructors work at Babler Outdoor Education Center, leading camps and outdoor classes for groups of 10–160, with on-site training provided. You will help set up and clean up, develop curriculum, lead evening programs, and handle logistics.

Responsibilities

• Lead camp programs according to lesson plan in outdoor/out of classroom environment
• Set-up and clean-up of camp classes and programs
• Study and understand program information and help create curriculum
• Lead evening/weekend programs such as hikes, campfire or games
• Recognize problems and report them to OEC staff
• Clean camp facility/sweep/disinfect as needed
• Other duties as assigned
• Instructors will be trained on-site for all programs/activities they are expected to lead
• As new programs are developed, instructor input and knowledge is encouraged and expected
• Instructors are expected to arrive to set up 30-45 minutes prior to their assigned program
• Instructors are expected to clean up program area at the end of the program day
