Job summary

The Brick Company in the Greater Baton Rouge Area is seeking a Yard Worker to maintain a safe, organized yard, assist with loading and unloading brick, block, and masonry supplies, and support inventory management. You will operate forklifts, skid steers, and pallet jacks, helping load deliveries and ensure accurate orders.

Ideal candidates are dependable, able to work outdoors in varying weather, lift up to 50 pounds, and communicate effectively with customers and drivers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in lumber yards or masonry supply yards preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and maneuver heavier materials with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard; ensure aisles and loading areas are accessible.
• Receive, inspect, unload, and stock shipments of brick, block, stone, pavers, and other materials.
• Safely load customer vehicles using forklifts, skid steers, pallet jacks and other handling equipment.
• Verify orders for accuracy and secure loads for transport.
• Assist customers and drivers with locating and loading products while delivering courteous service.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of yard equipment and report issues.
