Job summary

Buckhead & Newport Meat and Seafood is seeking a Warehouse Associate to accurately select products in the warehouse and prepare items for shipping. You will stack products in an orderly, stable configuration while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

The role requires 18+ years old with 0–1 year of relevant experience, lifting up to 100 lbs, and working in coolers/freezers. Expect long shifts and physically demanding work as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 0–1 year of relevant work experience.
• Frequently lift 10–75 lbs and up to 100 lbs.
• Frequent reaching up to 72 inches.
• Bend and twist while operating equipment.
• Work in very temperature-controlled environments (cooler/freezer).
• Stand/walk 10–12 hours daily.

Responsibilities

• Read customer orders from label screen and select product by slot and description.
• Assemble orders from stock and place on pallets in proper sequence.
• Attach labels on products.
• Operate electric pallet jack to the correct slot and transport to dock for staging.
• Handle products with care and report any damage.
• Perform daily equipment checks and clean-up as assigned.
• Sign in/out for equipment used.
• Follow GMP, personal hygiene, and SQF policies as described in safety manual.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Under general supervision, the associate will accurately and efficiently select products in the warehouse. Prepare products for shipping by stacking in an orderly and stable configuration, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Read customer order from label screen and select product by slot and description.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets in the proper sequence.
• Attach labels on product.
• Properly operate an electric pallet jack (2-pallet length) to proceed to correct slot location, and transport product to dock area for staging.
• Handle products with the necessary care.
• Report any damage of merchandise, equipment or facility to a supervisor.
• Perform daily equipment checks.
• Assist in the clean-up of the facility and sign off on the daily cleaning area that the supervisor may assign.
• Sign in and out for all equipment when used.
• Use basic communication skills to understand work systems, instructions, etc.
• Adhere to all applicable GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), personal hygiene, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) policies and procedures as described in the European Imports - Sysco Food Safety Training Manual.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 0 - 1 Year relevant work experience.
• Frequently lift product that weighs 10lb - 75lbs and up to 100lbs.
• Frequently reach up to 72 inches.
• Constantly bend and twist while operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, retrieving products from lower shelf areas.
• Work in very extreme temperatures (cooler and/or freezer).
• Work on your feet for 10-12 hours daily.

Preferred Requirements

• 1 year experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift.
• 1 year of warehouse, military, or physically active job experience.
• 1 year Selection Experience.
• 2 years consistent work history preferred.
